Zhang Lixin, PhD, professor, doctoral supervisor. In 2007, he was supported by the National Science Foundation for Outstanding Youth.
Professor Zhang was born in Jurong city, Jiangsu Province in December 1970. He received his bachelor's degree from Sichuan University in 1992 and his doctor's degree from Lanzhou University in 1997. In the same year, he entered The University of Turku, Finland for his postdoctoral research. He is Deputy Director of the Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Executive Committee member of the International Association for Photosynthesis, Executive Director of the Chinese Society for Plant Physiology, and Executive Director of the Biophysical Society. At the same time, professor Zhang served as deputy editor of Photosynthesis Research, Advance in Photosynthesis and Respiration, Molecular Plant, et al. He is also a consultant member of Plant Cell Physiology.
Professor Zhang's main research areas include:
1. Molecular mechanism of photosynthetic membrane complex formation and degradation: Using the method of mutants screening and protein interaction to screen the regulators of photosynthetic membrane complex formation and degradation, studying the action mode and mechanism of important regulatory proteins, and then explain the regulation mechanism of their interaction.
2. The mechanism of signal transduction in the plasmid: To study the nature of signal transduction between chloroplast and nucleus and nuclei and the molecular mechanism of chloroplast signals regulating photosynthesis, and to explore the role of cytoplasmic signal in plant growth and development.
