Cheng Gang, male, born in January 1978, is a doctor, professor, and doctoral supervisor. He received his bachelor's degree in Physics from Henan University in 2000 and master's degree in Condensed Matter Physics from Henan University in 2003. In 2008, he received his doctorate in Condensed Matter Physics jointly from Jilin University and Henan University, under Professor Du Zulliang and Academician Zou Guangtian. Since 2003, he has been working in the Key Laboratory of Special Functional Materials, Ministry of Education, Henan University. In 2012, he was selected as the Outstanding Youth of Science and Technology Innovation of Henan Province, and was selected as the High-level talent cultivation Plan A of the Key Laboratory of Special Functional Materials. Successively, he was selected into Henan University outstanding Youth Cultivation talents in 2014, and led the establishment of Henan University Innovation team in 2015, and won the National Natural Science Foundation Outstanding Youth Fund. Meanwhile, from 2013 to 2016, he was a visiting scholar in the research group of Academician Wang Zhonglin of Georgia Institute of Technology.

For many years professor Cheng engaged in the field of nanometer structure and photoelectric device, systematically research work has been carried out on the construction of nanostructures, surface interface photoelectric properties characterization and photoelectric nano-devices. He focuses on the research and development of schottki barrier nano electro-optical devices, self-driven nano electro-optical devices, nano friction generators and other new devices. He has published more than 40 SCI papers in ACS Nano, Adv. Mater., AdV. Energy Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater. Angew. Chem. In. Ed., Nano Energy, AppL. Phys. Lett. and other journals. He presided over and completed 3 National Natural Science foundation projects, 5 science and technology projects in Henan Province and won 2 Second prizes of Science and Technology progress of Henan Province.
