From November 1st to 5th, 2019 Prof. Joachim Frank (Columbia University), the 2017 Nobel Prize winner in Chemistry, along with Prof. Frances Zhao (Columbia University) visited Henan University.
On November 2nd, Prof. Frank was appointed as the Chairman of the International Academic Committee and the Distinguished Professor of Henan University. Song Chunpeng, President of Henan University, presented the Letters of Appointment to Prof. Frank in a solemn ceremony. After the appointment ceremony Prof. Frank gave an academic lecture on "Single-particle Cryo-EM of Biological Molecules: Visualization of Biological Molecules in their Native States".
On his visit to Henan University Joachim Frank held a meeting with researchers and experts of the School of Life Sciences to have an in-depth discussion of relevant questions, visited State Key Laboratory of Cotton Biology and State Key Laboratory of Crop Stress Adaptation & Improvement and gave a lecture “Life & Science” to students.
