On the morning of September 21, the Greek ambassador to China, Leonidas ROKANAS, visited HENU. President SONG Chunpeng met with him in the chapel of Minglun Campus.

They inaugurated the Greek Civilization Research Center.

SONG Chunpeng introduced the history and development of HENU. He said that the Yellow River Civilization Collaborative Innovation Center of HENU had long been committed to civilization exchanging and comparative studying, and signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement with University Of The Aegean to realize mutual visits and exchanges. The establishment of the Greek Civilization Research Center played an active role in promoting the cultural communication and cooperation between China and Greece, and provided a platform for the study of Yellow River Civilization Collaborative Innovation Center. Consequently, exchanges and cooperation between the two sides in culture issues became more frequent. It was hoped that the establishment of Greek Civilization Research Center will further promote cooperation between the two sides.

Leonidas ROKANAS congratulated the establishment of the research center. He said that Greece, like China, had a long history and splendid civilization. The two countries developed smoothly under the framework of the“Belt and Road Initiative”for the past few years. The Greek Civilization Research Center was a new institution jointly established by Henan University and University Of The Aegean. Efforts should be made to promote friendly cooperation between Henan University and Greek’s universities and boost educational and cultural exchanges between the two peoples.
