Qunji Xue

Xue Qunji was born on November 28, 1942 in Yinan County, Shandong Province. He is a specialist in materials chemistry and was elected academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1997.

Professor Xue graduated from Shandong University in 1965 and received his master's degree from Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 1967. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Michigan from 1980 to 1982, engaged in failure of lubrication research. He is now the Director of the Academic Committee of Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, the Director of the Academic Committee of the State Key Laboratory of Solid Lubrication, the Executive Director of The Chinese Chemical Society, the Director of the Society for Mechanical Engineering, the Director of the Society for Space Science, the Director of the Society for Materials Research, the Vice President of International Friction Institute, member of THE ACS and STLE and he is one of the academic leaders in the field of Material Chemistry and Tribochemistry in China and has a high reputation at home and abroad.

Professor Xue has rich accumulation and high academic level in polymer tribology, ceramic wear and lubrication, nanomaterials and tribology, additive tribology and the design and preparation of new materials. Professor Xue has participated in or presided over more than 30 national key projects, won the national third prize and 23 provincial and ministerial awards, published more than 370 research papers, 3 books, and authorized 19 patents. He has been rewarded national advanced worker, model worker in Gansu Province, young and middle-aged expert with outstanding national contributions, and excellent tutor for postgraduates of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. So far, he has trained 45 doctors and 9 masters. In 1994, he was invited to present a conference on “tribochemistry of ceramic materials” at the prestigious (United States) Galden Conference. In August 2001, as a national defense science and technology expert, he was received by General Secretary Jiang and other state leaders. In 2002, he won the He Liang& He Li Science and Technology Progress Award.
