Han Shijie, Ph.D. of Ecology, supervisor of doctoral students, second-level professor, second-level distinguished Professor of Henan University “Special Talent Zone Support Program”. He is a distinguished research fellow at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a member of the 100 Talents Program (A) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, one of the first members of the “National Candidate of the New Century Hundreds of Millions of Talents Program”, a recipient of government subsidies from the State Council, a national advanced field scientist, and also receives a special Contribution Award from the Chinese Ecosystem Research Network (CERN).

Professor Han has presided over the 13th Five-Year National Key Research and Development Program (Global Change Response Program), the National Key Basic Research Program973 Program, the National Science and Technology Foundation Program, and four key national Natural Science Foundation programs. He has won the Second Prize of The National Science and Technology Progress Award, the World Meteorological Organization MUMM Award and been awarded the representative achievements in the major special project: the National Natural Science Foundation of China’s “Global Change and Regional Response”. Professor Han has published more than 100 SCI papers in Agricultural and Forest Meteorology, Soil Biology & Biochemistry, Tree Physiology and other journals. Professor Han is currently the editorial board member of Acta Ecologica Sinica, Journal of Beijing Forestry University, Journal of Applied Ecology, Chinese Journal of Plant Ecology. Professor Han used to be a member of the Scientific Committee of CERN. He is now a member of the Mountain Resources Research Major of the Chinese Natural Resources Society, a member of Chinese Ecological Society majoring in long-term Ecological Studies, and a member of the China Flux Net Committee. Professor Han has been engaged in 20 years of university teaching and scientific research for more than 30 years, focusing on interface ecology and global change ecology. Recently, taking the advantage of interface ecology and global change science discipline superiority from the global change ecology in Henan international joint laboratory and Taohua Island tidal-flat area system research station of Henan university, in terms of ecological protection, ecological compensation, ecological security(risk and warning) of the Yellow River basin, he and his colleagues focused on the evolution of wandering channels and plant diversity and paid attention to the coupling law and regulation mechanism of vegetation-soil-air-groundwater under vegetation restoration and ecological protection in the middle and lower reaches of the Yellow River, conducted the study of Yellow River downstream ecological footprint, environmental evolution, ecological security and risk early warning technology system and technology demonstration, and carried out research work in area of tidal flat productivity, ecological compensation and regional social and economic multi-objective balanced development.
